Nancy Jean Tubbs has directed the LGBT Resource Center since 2000. She grew up in Texas (y’all), where she attended Texas A&M University and earned a bachelor’s in English and a master’s in educational administration. Nancy is a radical bureaucrat who enjoys improving policies, spending budgets, writing reports, questioning gender, dialoguing sexuality, challenging systems of oppression and wearing comfortable shoes. She has co-authored published articles on allies development and transgender inclusion. Come by Nancy’s office to meet her muppets, Patrick and The Dude, as well as the infamous Conference Monkey. “It takes an entire campus to raise an LGBT resource center,” says Nancy, aka “nancyjean.” “I’m proud to be a member of the UCR family.” Learn more about Nancy wearing a dress here.

Toi Thibodeaux has served as the Assistant Director for the LGBT Resource Center at UC Riverside since 2008, and is the current co-chair for the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on LGBT Students, Faculty & Staff.

Toi is available as a resource for all students, staff, and faculty to provide educational programming and training that contributes to student success, community-building and creating a safe, inclusive campus environment. Toi has direct responsibility for many of the center's student support programs including Campus-Wide Cultural Competency Training, 1-on-1 student mentoring, facilitates various Tuesday Talks, and advises LGBTQ student organizations. Toi is a role model for queer students of color on the UCR campus, and established the BlaqOUT Conference in 2014 and BlaqOUT, a discussion group for LGBT students who are black, African American, or of African descent. Toi also spends hours working with LGBTQ and questioning students daily in a one-on-one capacity.

Toi Thibodeaux holds a B.S. in Health Care Management and M.S. in Health Services Administration from California State University, San Bernardino.

Megan Rush (She/Her, They/Them) has been the Program Coordinator since 2014.

She is a health educator and social justice warrior. Megan spends a significant amount of time connecting and creating relationships with students so they thrive, not just survive. Megan runs the Community Health Education Peer-Program (CORE), facilitates most Tuesday Talk Discussion Series topics, supports the facilitation of the Drop-in Hours with campus partners, supervises student assistants and supports all of the programing coming out of the LGBT Resource Center. Megan is passionate about Health & Wellness, LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency, Reproductive and Sexual Health, supporting the basic needs of students and loves being an activist for her community.

Megan hold both a Bachelor and Master Degree’s in Public Health Education from CSU, San Bernardino. She is a former HIV Testing Counselor and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Mark Dunn joined the LGBT Resource Center in 1999 as an administrative assistant. He currently works half-time with the LGBTRC and half-time with the Women’s Resource Center. He can be found in the Women's Resource Center.
