Join together with the LGBT and Allies campus community for a celebration of our students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

The evening includes an alumni speaker, presentations of the Lambda Awards, honoring of graduating seniors with rainbow tassels, the Significant Others Awards, and recognition of students graduating with a Minor in LGBIT Studies. Enjoy the vocal talents of UCR students, and a yummy dinner!

Featured Speaker: Robert Diaz '02

Robert Diaz is a UC Riverside alum, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in LGBIT Studies. He is currently an Andrew W. Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellow in Comparative Ethnic Studies at University of Southern California (USC). He has taught Literature courses at Queens College (CUNY), USC, and Scripps College, focusing on U.S. Ethnic American Literature, Postcolonial Studies, and discourses of Gender and Sexuality.

While pursuing his doctorate degree at The Graduate Center (CUNY), he also worked for APICHA, a non-profit organization that conducts HIV/AIDS services for Asian/Americans in New York City. Aside from a co-edited issue of Women and Performance (Routledge) on the topic of Reparation, his book project, Reparative Acts: Redress and the Politics of Queer Undoing in Contemporary Asian/America, also explores the relationship between queer identity and various forms of reparation, outside of monetary redress, pursued by minorities and postcolonial subjects after specific traumatic events.
