Focus Groups Project
CAC Goals:
To make it possible for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students, staff, and faculty to enjoy a positive personal and professional experience while members of the UCR community.
To provide a visible focus to the issues of discrimination and harassment of people on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity; and to provide education about these issues to the campus community.
To encourage full implementation of the University hiring policy barring discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
To recommend plans and policies that will reduce homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia on our campus and address the needs of our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.
To explore ways of expanding the curriculum to include opportunities for scholarly research and teaching on the areas of LGBT Studies and in other ways to support intellectual activities in these areas.

Focus Group Project
Thank you to the many students, staff, and faculty who participated in the Spring 2007 Focus Groups to learn about the needs of LGBT students and about better ways our campus can meet those needs. Many thanks, also, to the AVC/Dean of Students Office, the VP for Conflict Resolution, and Housing for supporting this project.
The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of LGBTs will work with campus stakeholders to develop "next steps" once a written report is delivered.
Questions may be directed to Nancy Tubbs of the LGBT Resource Center <nancy.tubbs@ucr.edu>, or Lisa Sueki of the Professional Development Group <ltsueki@sbcglobal.net>).
